We are pleased to confirm that we have now developed a Social Value Checklist to support you to include details of your social performance within your financial accounts.
The benefit of doing this is that it enables people reading your accounts to understand not just how you performed financially but also what you have achieved with those finances.
The checklist will help you to identify where you may have provided social value (either through social, economic, environmental or regeneration benefits), and highlight the difference you make.
The checklist will be provided to you when your year end accounts are due, and this can then be used to generate content for your Directors Report in your financial accounts. For CICs, including content in your financial accounts, means that you can simply refer to your accounts rather than writing separate information on your CIC34 Form.
We have a factsheet on social value and the Social Value Act, which includes some items you may wish to consider. It is also available to download from our resources page.
